B&B | CharmeHotel CubaCasa has 4 rooms (‘habitaciónes’): two double rooms, a generous group accommodation for 4 people and a luxurious suite for 2 people with sun patio, sauna, relaxation bath and extra-large bed.

La Habitación Superior may well be the most beautiful room at CubaCasa. The room stretches across the entire upper floor of the building and is equipped with every comfort. The ambiance in the room is determined to a great extent by the exposed wooden rafters in the impressively high ceiling (more than 4.5 metres). When you're lying in bed, you look all the way up to the apex of the building, which gives a tremendous feeling of space. The floor is made of Portuguese tiles laid on a construction of robust wooden beams.

There are fixed stairs in the room that lead to an extra 'floor'. A walkway links the two entresols (the half-open upper floors) with each other; on the one side, there is a Finnish sauna and on the other, a relax area with a double bed where you cool off and rest after a session in the sauna. Lastly: there is a huge television screen in the apex of the ceiling (actually a mini cinema) that has numerous television channels and a Netflix connection.

Quite simply a fantastic double room, really luxurious, of a standard not often seen in the Netherlands.

A closer look

  • Extremely large bed: half waterbed, half normal mattress

    La Habitación Superior has an extremely large bed that consists of one half waterbed (220 x 200 cm) and the other half normal mattress (220 x 160 cm) joined together. If you don't sleep so well on one type of mattress, you just go for the other type. The waterbed is deliciously heated! Adjusted in the winter, spring and autumn to roughly 29 degrees (perfect bed temperature); the waterbed heating is switched off completely in the summer, and offers coolness in hot, clammy weather. Which is very welcome!

    This is the only double bed of this size in the Netherlands!

  • Extraordinary sanitary facilities

    In the room, you have an uninterrupted view of a fantastic Spanish relaxation bath, 210 x 270 cm and finished in tadelakt. Absolutely wonderful to relax in together because this bath offers ample space for two. A bit of music in the background, dim the lights and set your drink on the edge of the bath; even the bridal suite at the Hilton can't top this. And for those who are not so mad about soaking in the bath for ages, it's also a step-in shower. Above the bath, there is a rainfall shower; you can shower with a view of the room.

  • Get a massage to complete the wellness experience

    Being massaged is very relaxing and can really energise you after a long day or tiring week. CubaCasa can provide professional massages except in the following cases: heart problems, high blood pressure, varicose veins, poor general health, infectious diseases (such as flu), fever, thrombosis, infectious skin diseases, boils, serious back pain, burn out and during pregnancy. If in doubt, consult your family doctor. This should be clear before a massage begins.

    Relaxation massage is a safe option for those in good health.

La Habitación Superior has its own outdoor space; a sun patio which is bathed in sunshine from early morning to late afternoon during the summer. You will have cosy lounge seating, a breakfast table with four chairs and a fireplace where you can burn wood, but only under the supervision of hotel staff. If a wood block is ignited, the guest commits to staying by the fire for at least four hours, until the block has burned up completely. Adding wood to the fire or putting it out may only be done by authorised hotel staff. After all, the one thing a B&B owner is afraid of is fire. That must be avoided at all costs. However, we also want our guests to enjoy the total experience and we trust our visitors to use their common sense.

A Finnish sauna for added value for CubaCasa guests

’s-Hertogenbosch has one of the most beautiful sauna complexes in the Netherlands: Deverana. It's an absolutely gorgeous sauna! But maybe you're trying to avoid crowds and you'd prefer a sauna session for just the two of you. And you can, in B&B | CharmeHotel CubaCasa! This accommodation has a wellness space with a Finnish sauna, situated up in the apex of the roof. You can go to your own sauna by way of the fixed stairs in the bedroom (and the walkway). This space is not accessible to other guests staying at CubaCasa. A glass wall in the sauna cabin gives you a view of your room below. Lovely! You can cool off standing on the walkway in front of an open cantilever skylight, in the shower on the ground floor of the room or outside, on the patio.

In a corner, there is a wash-hand basin and toilet, to be reached by an open access corridor

The wash-hand basin and toilet space is styled with blue bricks. The open access corridor with corner means the toilet is out of sight but it cannot entirely disguise any use of the wash-hand basin or toilet. For that reason, the room is most suitable for couples or good friends who know each other well. If there's a chance of any shyness between the guests, this room is perhaps not the best option and guests might be advised to choose one of the other rooms. All the rooms in CubaCasa are exquisite.

Having said that, La Habitación Superior is still without a doubt the most beautiful room in the building. The ultimate bridal suite, a place to enjoy wellness or just to wind down and enjoy the experience together. You will get the most out of this room if you book for two consecutive days. There is so much to enjoy besides eating and/or shopping in the city, such as the relaxation bath where you can spend hours, the sauna which you want to take time for and long, fulfilling sleep in that wonderful bed.

We list here the main pros and cons for you

  • The stone floor is resting on a construction of wooden beams, so contact sounds such as walking are audible on the floor below. Please take that into consideration.

  • The tadelakt bath is situated against one wall of the stairwell, so any sounds made during bathing (such as chatting, laughing etc.) are audible to guests on a lower floor.

  • The room is somewhat light and because some of the windows are skylights in the sloping roof, it's difficult to shut out the light with curtains. There are curtains for the largest, most sloping windows but it might be advisable to make use of the sleep masks provided.

  • The wash-hand basin and toilet are situated in a space accessed by an open corridor. It looks beautiful and suits the style of the room perfectly but it does mean that the space cannot be closed off completely.

  • The room takes up the entire upper floor of the building, which means that some stair climbing is involved. CubaCasa staff can help bring suitcases upstairs. The last part of the staircase is wooden, so we do ask that you are extra considerate when going upstairs late at night. Either tread lightly, or remove your shoes and go barefoot or in socks! But please be careful not to slip!

  • The bed is very low and may not be suitable for older guests or guests with mobility problems.

  • A beautiful, stylish accommodation (2 persons) of a standard not often seen in the Netherlands.

  • The huge bed (360 x 220 cm) is divided into two halves - one waterbed and one normal mattress (all tastes catered for).

  • The room has a large-sized relaxation bath (210 x 270 cm), finished in beautiful tadelakt (marble-like plasterwork).

  • There is a two-person sauna cabin in the apex of the roof that is reached by way of fixed stairs. Take the walkway to the other side and you'll find a relax area with, on one side of the sloping roof, a big-screen television (with many channels and a Netflix connection) and on the other side, a romantic starry sky.

  • You can also enjoy watching television in bed. On the wall opposite the foot of the bed is another big-screen television with the same number of channels and a Netflix connection.

  • The room has a lovely sun patio with lounge seating, a breakfast table and four chairs and many plants.

  • There is a gas hearth in the room, with a cosy, leaping flame. There is an identical model outside on the patio but that one is totally live. It burns wood or a fire log (the fire may only be attended to by hotel staff and not by you - due to fire risk!).

  • There are two massage tables present in the room which can be used by the house massage therapist.

  • The room provides in two hugh televisions; one positioned as mini-cinema just under the roof, the other one on the wall in front of the bed; both with lots of digital tv and radio stations, and Netflix connected.
